LEADERSHIP

In terms of producing a High Performance Team, John believes there are 3 separate elements
to Leadership:

1. THE LEADER

2. EVERYONE IN THE ORGANISATION IS A LEADER - AND HAS THE CAPACITY TO LEAD.

3. THE ORGANISATIONAL SYSTEMS AND PROCESSES MUST BE AT OR STRIVING TO
    BE AT THE LEADING EDGE

If these elements are in alignment, then there can be a Leadership Culture established. It is somewhat like Harrison Owen describes as the ‘self-organising system’. If one subscribes to the Harrison Owen viewpoint, the High Perfomance Team (and indeed individuals within this team) are recognised as setting the benchmarks, the game changers or as Owen refers to them, the ‘Wave Riders’.
