Buchanan Success Coaching

John has proved extremely popular in the corporate sector as well as the sporting sector with his unique but successful skills as an educator and coach.

Due to the demand for John to coach and present talks and seminars beyond cricket, Buchanan Success Coaching was formed.

After beginning his cricket career playing for the University Club in Brisbane, John went on to represent Queensland in seven Sheffield Shield matches between 1978-1979, scoring 160 runs in 13 visits to the crease, with a top score of 41 against NSW.

Then in his first season as coach of the Queensland Bulls they won their first ever Sheffield Shield (1994-95 season). In his five years coaching the Bulls they won the Sheffield Shield and Merctantile Mutual Cup, twice each.

In 1999 John became the Australian Cricket Team coach after the retirement of Geoff Marsh and has since led the team to a number of world records including the highest number of consecutive Test wins (16); the longest number

He has held positions as the Sports Coordinator of the XII Commonwealth Games, National Director of the Volleyball Federation and was Manager - Sports Development at the Department of Tourism, Sports and Racing.

"A coach's role is to expand the horizons of the team," John explains. "And that means trying to develop the whole person, not just the cricketer. The same applies in any arena, be it sport, corporate, or life generally."

Through Buchanan Success Coaching, John offers his philosophy and proven track record in support of the highest outcome for both individuals and teams.
